Bio - Jeff Winslow

In 1979, while a college student, Jeff took his first drawing class taught by Seattle based artist Gene Gentry McMahon. Though a prolific, lifelong doodler, it was this class that ignited his passion to be an artist. He received his B.A. in Art from the University of Washington while studying under Jacob Lawrence, Michael Daly and Michael Spafford . After graduation, his first job was as a special effects photographer, leading him to create a series of portraits that were photographic interpretations of Francis Bacon's portrait work.

Winslow has never been focused on process but the end result; communicating with the viewer. "My goal is to communicate as accurately as possible my experience of being human in this crazy world."

He views various styles as just different tools to express different aspects of his experience. He has been steadily working in the mediums of drawing, painting and photography for nearly three decades.

He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
